Symposium 113 - Fauré and His Students
Fauré and His Students
Sunday, 8 February 2015 @ 5:00pm
Monday, 9 February 2015 @ 7:00pm
The life and work of Gabriel Fauré bridged the great transformation from the close of the belle-époque to the dawn of the modern. At the turn of the century, Fauré inspired and advocated on behalf of a new generation of composers. This symposium includes Fauré’s exquisite song-cycle “La bonne chanson” as well as Ravel’s early masterpiece string quartet, dedicated to his teacher.
