Fauré and His Students

The life and work of Gabriel Fauré bridged the great transformation from the close of the belle-époque to the dawn of the modern.  At the turn of the century, Fauré inspired and advocated on behalf of a new generation of composers.  This symposium includes Fauré’s exquisite song-cycle “La bonne chanson” as well as Ravel’s early masterpiece string quartet, dedicated to his teacher.
