Thursday, August 12th, 2010 Helicon Artist Ilya Poletaev Awarded First Prize in Leipzig Bach Competition

Helicon congratulates Canadian pianist Ilya Poletaev on winning first prize in the 17th International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition.

We look forward to his program at Helicon next season, "The Muse of History," which looks at the Preludes and Fugues of Dmitri Shostakovich through their historical models.  For this program Ilya will play modern piano, harpsichord, and chamber organ.

Monday, August 2nd, 2010 Helicon Artists to Perform with The Knights

Helicon Artistic Director James Roe, and Helicon artists, Eric Jacobsen, Johnny Gandelsman, Vera Beths, Kristi Helberg, Guillaume Pirard, Alex Sopp, Marianne Gythfeldt, and Patrick Pridemore will perform with the New York-based orchestra The Knights in two free concerts this week.

The Apple Store concert celebrates the release of a new CD of Mozart Violin Concerti played by Lara and Scott St. John with The Knights conducted by Eric Jacobsen.
